sir,

C.O. FEGY

Ng Loi Yuen -v- The King.

In this matter, as already reported, the Petition

for special leave to appeal to the Privy Council has been

lodged with the Registrar, and we had expected that it would

have been dealt with ere this, but as we have not so far

received notice of the date of hearing, it cannot now be

heard before the 17th instant, which is the date to which

the sentence has been respited. Under these circumstances

you may perhaps think it advisable to send a cablegram to

Hong Kong, stating that the Petition has been lodged and is

only awaiting an appointment to be heard.

We are, Sir,

Your obedient Servants,

Burchells

chells.

URGENT

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street,

S.W.1.
